Perla Batalla (born in Los Angeles, California) is a Mexican-American singer-songwriter.
Educated at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, Batalla did vocal work in film and television before becoming a backing vocalist for Leonard Cohen. She subsequently released her first solo album in 1993, and continued to write and perform her own material.
In 2005, Batalla performed several Cohen songs on the concert film and tribute album Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man. Earlier that year, she released Bird on the Wire: the Songs of Leonard Cohen, tribute album with covers of Cohen's songs, thus celebrating his 70th birthday. (Album was delayed from his actual 70th birthday which was in September 2004.)
