Philipp Karner Biography

Actor Philipp Karner began his career with a long sequence of guest-starring roles on prime-time series programs, where he parlayed his everyman qualities into a broad array of roles, wielding considerable emotional impact as everything from a quirky gay lover (on the sitcom Will & Grace) to a psychopathic serial killer with a flair for inventive homicides (on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation). Karner then gained substantial recognition on the second season of the HBO reality series Project Greenlight, as one of the cast members of the ill-fated Battle of Shaker Heights -- an indie movie with a very rocky and conflicted production history that the program chronicled. The film hit theaters (in very limited release) during the late summer of 2003, Karner made his next major big-screen appearance in 2007, as the former gay lover of a man on the cusp of marriage to a woman, in the romantic comedy Kiss the Bride (2007). ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
