Rick Berman Biography

Producer/executive producer Rick Berman was responsible for overseeing the various syndicated Star Trek spin-offs that have populated television channels the world over since 1987. He also oversaw the feature Star Trek: Generations (1994) and Star Trek: First Contact (1996). Berman began his fruitful association with Paramount, the studio behind the Star Trek oeuvre, in 1984 as the director of current programming. A year later, he became the executive director of dramatic programming and in 1996 became the vice president, longform and special projects, for Paramount Network Television.
