Robert Iler (born March 2, 1985 in New York, New York) is an American actor, best known for his portrayal of A.J. Soprano in The Sopranos.
On July 4, 2001, when Iler was only 16 years old, he and three others were arrested on Manhattan's Upper East Side for robbing $40 from two Brazilian tourists. Iler was charged with second degree robbery as well as marijuana possession which carried up to 15 years in prison. The three oldest were indicted on August 3 and plead not guilty on August 29. On April 23, 2002, Iler and one of his accomplices agreed to plead guilty to a lesser misdemeanor and Iler was sentenced to three years probation. [1] [2] [3]
Iler also appeared in the following films:
- Daredevil (2003) as Bully #1,
- Tadpole (2002) as Charlie, and
- The Tic Code (1999) as Denny Harley.
In 2005, Robert Iler lost 25 pounds on the Atkins diet, reducing his weight from 180 pounds to 155 pounds.
