Roberto Cobo Biography

As the thin, murderous El Jaibo in Luis Buñuel's Los Olvidados (aka The Forgotten Ones [1950]), Mexican actor Roberto Cobo enjoyed a successful film career during which he would eventually be credited in more than 60 films. Born in Mexico City in 1930, the former dancer turned versatile popular actor would give memorable performances in such films as El Lugar Sin Limites (aka A Place Without Limits [1977]) and the Roman Polanski-inspired Sobrenatural (aka All of Them Witches [1995]). In addition to his film roles, Cobo also appeared in such popular Mexican television series as La Pasion de Isabela and Yacaranday. In early August 2002, Roberto Cobo died of cancer in Mexico City.
