Roger Allers is a famous film director and screenwriter, who has worked on many successful Disney movies. As of February 2006 he is working as director on the animated movie, Open Season from Sony.

He directed the Academy Award winning movie, The Lion King. He was also nominated for a Tony for writing the book of the hit Broadway musical version of "The Lion King". He wrote, among other things, the script for Oliver and Company, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.
