"Silent Hill" Inspired by a (Real) Creepy Town?
IGN FilmForce continues to dole out some great pre-release coverage for Silent Hill, the based-on-a-video game horror flick from Christophe Gans (Brotherhood of the Wolf) and Roger Avary (The Rules of Attraction). Seems that the screenwriter used the actual town of Centralia, PA, as some sort of inspiration ... and it sounds like a pretty creepy place.

Four Actors Tapped to Star in Zemeckis' "Beowulf"
Variety reports that a quartet of well-known performers have been invited to star in Robert Zemeckis' upcoming adaptation of "Beowulf." Ray Winstone ("King Arthur"), Anthony Hopkins ("Hannibal"), Brendan Gleeson ("28 Days Later"), and Robin Wright Penn ("Unbreakable") "would be committing to a process that is more like a regular movie than the voiceover work commonly done for 3-D animated films," as the technology-happy Mr. Zemeckis is planning to deliver a "Beowulf" presentation not unlike "The Polar Express."

Zemeckis to Direct "Beowulf" Capture Film
Sony and Steve Bing have purchased a script for a motion-capture version of "Beowulf," Variety reports. The script, written by Roger Avary and Neil Gaiman, will be directed by Robert Zemeckis. In this preliminary stage, the film's budget is set at $70 million.
