Rupert Crosse (1927 – March 5, 1973) is an Academy Award-nominated African-American actor.
He played Ned in the 1969 adaptation of William Faulkner's The Reivers opposite Steve McQueen. Crosse received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for the film. He was first African American to be nominated in that category and only the second male performer of African descent to be nominated in any category overall (Sidney Poitier being the first).
He was originally cast as Mullhall in The Last Detail (1973), but died of cancer before shooting could begin. He was a close friend of Jack Nicholson.
