Box Office Guru Wrapup: Date Night Battles Titans for Top Spot
This weekend, in a virtual dead heat for first place, Fox's new comedy "Date Night" opened with about as much in ticket sales as the second session of the Warner Bros. 3D epic "Clash of the Titans." Sunday estimates from the studios had the films separated by only $225,000 which is not enough to claim a decisive victory, but both films certainly pulled in solid amounts powering the overall marketplace to another very strong spring frame. Final grosses to be reported on Monday, after Sunday sales are counted, will determine the official rankings.

Jen Gets Terminated, Day 4: Terminator Salvation
It's been a roller coaster ride revisiting the science fiction films Terminator (1984), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003), and I thank everyone who followed along with me this week. As we found out, the franchise that James Cameron began 25 years ago weathered a lot of changes through the years (from $6.5 million thriller to $200 million action pic, from Arnold Schwarzenegger's first "I'll be back" to "Talk to the hand") but what kept fans hooked from picture to picture were the core themes of the Terminator universe: humanity attempting to save itself, the strength of familial bonds, and the idea that we're all in control of our own fates -- even if the future seems rather bleak.

Exclusive: The Look of Terminator Salvation with Martin Laing
Production Designer Martin Laing has worked with James Cameron on True Lies, Titanic and Ghosts of the Abyss and has served on films like The Haunting, City of Ember and the upcoming Clash of the Titans. Terminator Salvation, with its bleak view of the future, is easily his most ambitious project to date. On the eve of the film's worldwide rollout, he sits down exclusively with RT to take us through concept art for the film and explain his approach... "Our Terminator world is quite different from the films you've seen before. Exclusive: McG Talks Terminator Salvation
The news that one of the greatest sci-fi franchises of all time was to get a full-fat reboot predictably sent cyborg fanboys into paroxysms of joy. For about 10 minutes. That Arnie, otherwise engaged running the world's fourth largest economy, wouldn't be back was partly compensated for by the casting of Christian Bale. But the revelation that McG was to be at the helm of Terminator Salvation put an abrupt stop to the celebrations. Not only are Relativity's "War of the Gods" and Warners' "Clash of the Titans" remake heading for a theater near you at the same time, but they've both got casting news: Henry Cavill is in talks to play Theseus in "War," and Sam Worthington is negotiating for the role of Perseus in "Clash."
