Samuel Spewack Biography

Born in the Ukraine, but raised in the U.S., Samuel Spewack first worked as a journalist for the New York World. In the late '20s, he and his wife, Bella, co-wrote the scripts for a number of slapstick comedies for both stage and screen. During WWII, Spewack created the documentary The World at War (1942) for the Office of War Information.
