Sasha Mitchell Biography

Sasha Mitchell is an American actor,best known for his role as "Cody" on the television series Step by Step.Mitchell got his start on TV's Dallas, playing J.R. Ewing's illegitimate son, James.He got work in his own right starting in 1988 in the film Spike of Bensonhurst. Heearned his black belt in taekwondo and was a championship fighter in kickboxing.Using his real-life skills he took over Jean-Claude Van Damme's role in theKickboxer movie series. He starred in a total of three, with the final one beingKickboxer 4: The Aggressor in 1994. He was also a Calvin Klein model.Sasha had also found short-lived popularity on the ABC Friday night family sitcomStep by Step where he played the dumb but sweet nephew of Patrick Duffy (also ofTV's Dallas). After the scandal of domestic violence charges being filed byMitchell's wife, the Disney company decided to write him out of the series, and hewas only asked back for one episode on the last season of Step by Step. He laterstated in court that his domestic violence charges resulted from attempts atprotecting his children from their physically abusive mother, whom he accused ofbeing a drug user. He was able to obtain full custody of their four children, andtheir mother only receives limited, supervised visitation.In recent years Mitchell has acted in several direct-to-video films and made guestappearances on show like JAG, NYPD Blue, and ER.
