Shane Carruth is an American film writer, director, producer and actor. Carruth performed all those roles in his independent film Primer, which was honored at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival with the Grand Jury Prize.

According to IMDb, he was born in 1972 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Carruth, a former engineer with a degree in Mathematics, utilized his technical knowledge on the project.
