The intelligent, articulate delivery that marks the way anchorman Stone Phillips delivers the news is more than just good diction. Phillips was a top-notch student, winning so many awards at his Missouri high school that the administration began limiting how many a single student could earn. He went on to attend Yale, where he pursued various areas with success, from earning a degree in philosophy to playing on the football team. In 1986, Phillips got his first break when he became a correspondent for the news magazine show 20/20. Eventually, in 1994, Phillips became the co-host of his own news magazine show, Dateline NBC. His trademark gravitas made the show's stories seem all the more compelling, and Phillips stayed with the program for 13 years. ~ Cammila Albertson, Rovi
