Box Office Guru Wrapup: "300" Reigns Again as Box Office King
Three new competitors were no match this weekend for the mighty action epic "300," which easily defended its box office crown to rule North American theaters for a second straight time. Sandra Bullock reached a new career high with the thriller "Premonition," which debuted in third place while the horror film "Dead Silence" and the Chris Rock comedy "I Think I Love My Wife" opened in the top five with mixed results. "300" grossed as much as all three new releases combined.

"Toy Story 3" Leads Locked, Hand-Drawn "Frog Princess" Also a Go
Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are officially signed up to reprise their beloved roles in "Toy Story 3," which I believe is a sequel to "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2." Also, it looks like Disney is making a return to hand-drawn animation with their (eventually) upcoming "Frog Princess." Cool!

Box Office Guru Wrapup: Audiences Ride with Wild Hogs at #1
Moviegoers rallied behind the star-driven comedy "Wild Hogs," which raced to number one at the North American box office, zooming past all expectations from Disney. Meanwhile, Viacom saw less-than-stellar debuts from its serial killer drama "Zodiac" from Paramount Pictures and the southern fried saga "Black Snake Moan" from arthouse unit Paramount Vantage. Overall, the box office remained healthy and surged well ahead of last year's performance.

Another frame packed with four new national releases is led by Oliver Stone's 9/11 drama "World Trade Center" from Paramount. A trio of lower profile pics round out the weekend - Sony's family adventure "Zoom," Buena Vista's teen drama "Step Up," and The Weinstein Company's horror flick "Pulse." Trailer Bulletin: The Shaggy Dog
In 1959 Disney released a live-action family comedy about a family man who turns into a dog. Instead of keeping "The Shaggy Dog" out of the public consciousness, for good reason, the remake gods dictated that we needed a brand-new version. And that it should star Tim Allen. "Ghost Rider" Leaps from July '06 to February '07
Sony's rather expensive "Ghost Rider" adaptation, which stars Nicolas Cage as a flame-headed butt-kicker from beyond the grave, will now have a few extra months to work on his chopper. The studio recently announced that the Rider won't make his debut until early 2007.

Disney Having Trouble With "Toy Story 3"
Fox411 via IGN FilmForce reports that Disney is having difficulty finding a director for "Toy Story 3." According to sources close to the project, no major directors want to take on the film, which will not be made in conjunction with Pixar, over concerns of alienating the animation company.
