Wendy Makkena (born 4 October 1963) is an American actress, most well known as Sister Mary Robert from the Sister Act movies. Her mother is a well-known New York astrologer.
Born in New York City, she began her acting career in 1986 appearing in the TV show Santa Barbara. She later landed her first movie role in Eight Men Out. She has made various guest appearances in TV shows such as Law & Order, Monsters, and NYPD Blue. In 1992 she landed a starring role in the popular movie Sister Act as the shy but talented singing nun Sister Mary Robert, a role she played again in Sister Act 2. She played in various other TV roles until 1997 when she starred in Air Bud, and then in the independent film Finding North in 1998. Since then, she has starred in various TV shows such as The Job, Oliver Beene, and Listen Up.
Wendy married in 1997. She has a child and lives in New York.
