Wilmer Valderrama (born January 30, 1980) is a Venezuelan American comic actor, most famous for the role of Fez in the sitcom That '70s Show. As of 2006, he is the host of the MTV series Yo Momma.

Biography

Early life

Valderrama was born in Miami, Florida to immigrant parents. They moved to Venezuela when he was three years old, and again moved to Los Angeles from Venezuela at the age of fourteen. He didn't speak a word of English upon his arrival, but he quickly learned the language in school and began drama classes during high school. He has said that he learned English from watching I Love Lucy.

Career

In 1998, Valderrama had his first career success in the role of Fez in the television series That 70s Show. The character he played, a foreign-exchange student, had a naive personality, a thick accent, and a name so confusing he was nicknamed "Fez" (for "foreign exchange student").

Personal life

Valderrama was previously in serious relationships with several high profile starlets including Mandy Moore and Lindsay Lohan. It has also been reported that he had a fling with Eva Longoria before and during her relationship with Tony Parker.

Valderrama co-owns three restaurants: Dolce, The Lodge, and Geisha House.

Trivia

  • Wilmer has been Punk'd three times by Ashton Kutcher. He currently holds the record for being Punk'd the most.
  • In an episode of That '70s Show, when the kids' high school yearbooks were shown, Wilmer's character Fez was voted "Most Likely to Play Ponch in the Musical Version of CHiPs." In 2008, Wilmer will star in the movie version of CHiPs as Ponch. He also played Ponch alongside Danny Masterson and Mila Kunis in a parody entitled "CHiPS 2002" on an episode of MadTV.
  • He was named to People magazine's "Top 50 Bachelors" in 2002.
