Joe Lozito

Agrees with the Tomatometer 75% of the time.

Biography:
Big Picture Big Sound co-founder Joe Lozito has been a fan and critic of movies since a very early age. At the age of 10, he was keeping his movie ticket stubs in a photo album with what would later be called “capsule reviews” written underneath. Why he was seeing so many movies at that age is better left to the therapist’s couch. As Joe became more of an authority (in his own mind anyway) on film, he made the transition to online movie review publishing in 1998 in the form of joelozito.com. In 2005, that archive of material put the “Big Picture” in Big Picture Big Sound. Joe has also dabbled in music and acting in New York City and has, like most critics, a screenplay or two in his back pocket. When he’s not staring at a screen in a darkened room, Joe enjoys playing guitar, karate, golf and scuba diving. However, he mostly watches movies. Mostly.

0/4 30% Tideland (2006) " Now, I like pushing boundaries as much as the next guy. When it's done well, as in say Todd Solondz' wonderfully dark Happiness, it can be searingly challenging. But in the case of Tideland it's just uncomfortable to watch." — Big Picture Big Sound

.5/4 20% Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) " Even for a Michael Bay movie, this robot-on-robot sequel is a pointless, messy assault on the senses. The special effects, of course, are flawless. The rest is scrap metal." — Big Picture Big Sound

.5/4 29% Underworld: The Rise of the Lycans (2009) " Bad even for a movie about vampires and werewolves, this "Underworld" prequel should, at the very least, be the final nail in this franchise's (ahem) coffin." — Big Picture Big Sound

1/4 36% Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) " This third installment in the noisy, interminable, and in-all-ways robotic series is not quite as unforgivably bad as the last one, but that doesn't make it good." — Big Picture Big Sound
