Biography:
Tony Toscano is a nationally recognized movie critic and film historian who has been reviewing films for over 25 years. Tony grew up in West Covina, just outside Los Angeles. Always interested in broadcasting and television, its no surprise Tony's first job was a disc jockey at his hometown radio station. It's there he started to review films as a regular feature of his show. Directly because of his show Tony was asked to write a newspaper column for the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. Toscano attended Film and Television classes at San Bernardino Valley College in San Bernardino, California were he worked at the college radio station and PBS TV station on campus. Tony also attended classes at the prestigious United States International University (U.S.I.U) in San Diego and finally USC in Los Angeles. In the 80's he moved from L.A to Provo, Utah to host a morning radio show where his film reviews were heard once a week and became a staple of the program. Toscano began taking live calls from listeners and discussing current movies. Tony made the jump from radio and newspapers to television 1995. Beginning as a film critic on KUTV (the CBS affiliate in Salt Lake City) then to KJZZ TV in Salt Lake where he hosted the popular "Movie Review Show." Tony has successfully syndicated his own TV program "Talking Pictures" and is seen on 200+ stations accross the country. His reviews have been published in The New York Times and other respected journals. His fellow interviewing critics regard Tony as one of the country’s best celebrity interviewers. His in-depth conversations with such notable stars as Ben Affleck, Mel Gibson, Steven Speilberg, Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow and Denzel Washington show a different, more relaxed side of celebrities. In 2002 "Talking Pictures" was awarded an EMMY for "Outstanding Achievement in Interview Programming." When not previewing, reviewing or interviewing Tony can be found somewhere in the mountains of Utah stream fishing.
