With director Alfonso Cuaron ("A Little Princess") taking the helm from Chris Columbus, "Prisoner of Azkaban" is widely regarded as the best Potter movie yet. Screenwriter Steven Kloves returned for a third trip to the adaptation department, and "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" tallied just under $790,000,000 in global ticket sales. Clearly this was a series to be reckoned with.
In "Prisoner of Azkaban," a notorious villain named Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban (aka The Wizard's Prison) and is reportedly after Harry. Without knowing why this dangerous criminal is after him, Harry is nonetheless relieved that the powers-that-be are on the case. To keep Harry safe, the bigwigs of the wizarding world have brought in a bunch of "Dementors," creepy apparitions who might just prove to be more trouble than they're worth! Fortunately, Harry has the new Dark Arts Professor Lupin (one of his parents' good friends) to help him with spells and life problems in general. The threat of Sirius Black dredges up a lot of painful memories of Harry's late parents, and it's not long before our young wizard begins to piece some of his history back together.
