Hi

I'm looking for this image of an edtion of Fabio Frizzi's soundtrack to Zombie2 in quite good resolution..
http://www.vidjunkie.com/images/cd_zombie.jpg
this version was released on Splinter records in just 1000 copies and i can't find anyone who has it...

The reason I need it as for a zombie/cannibal tattoo i'm working on and i need the lower part of it.. So if you have this picture or the soundtrack and could email it to me i would be really thankfull...

What is everyone watching at the moment? I'm not watching anything right now, but I might pop in ILSA, SHE WOLF OF THE SS and watch it with commentary.

What Japanese films do you recommend to a "newbie?" I've already seen RINGU and some of the Godzilla films, but what others would you recommend? I've heard AUDITION is very good, and I've also heard very good things about THE EYE. What do you think?

Audition is good if you have a very strong stomach. It's not my type at all. I'm more into subtle horror as in unsettling more than straight gore as a general rule. But I've known many people who did love Audition.

Some good movies to start out with that are along the same vein as Ring:
From Japan - Kairo, Dark Water
From Korea - A Tale of Two Sisters, Whispering Corridors, The Wishing Stairs.
From China - The Eye, Bio-Zombie *horror/comedy*, Temegotchi, Visible Secret
From Thailand - The Hotel

Thanks for the recommendations! I'll look into these. I enjoyed RINGU, but I'm still kind of unsure about how much I enjoyed it. I definitely have a strong stomach (you can see that by looking at my DVD collection) so AUDITION might be my kind of movie.

The eye is good there is also a sequel to that film,Audition is awsome, starts slow but is well worth the wait, trust me.Also check out a film titled Neighbor no.13,about a man with split personality's.All kinds of good stuff out there,If you join Netflix that is probably BY FAR the best source for foriegn horror films, they have it all and you can read reviews on every film and watch a preview if there is one.Or look around on E-bay if you want to purchase.

If you are looking into shock horror check out the rest of the Takashi Miike collection,Gozu(A woman gives birth to a full-grown man)Visitor Q,Ichi The Killer(all kinds of depravity in this one)but theses are movies for people not easily offended for sure!I can watch about anything.

Many of the Italian films I've seen have had great scores by Goblin. Goblin to me really add's some great atmosphere to many of the films! And I really enjoy there stuff.

Thought abotu picking up the 3 disc Suspira set with the complete Soundtrack on cd. Thought that might be a good pick up.

You might want to rent it first though, because the movie definitely isn't for everyone, as I said before.

I agree with you about Goblin though. Their collaborations with Dario Argento are always fantastic (especially DEEP RED and TENEBRE), but I also love their non-Argento stuff, too. They did great work on DAWN OF THE DEAD.

What is your favorite Dario Argento movie?

Mine would have to be a tie between DEEP RED and TENEBRE, since I love them both equally.

Sadly the only Arento I've seen is Deep Red and it blew my socks off. I really want to see Suspira as well.

You really should try to see it. I have the Limited Edition DVD, that has the movie on one disc, a documentary on the second disc, and the soundtrack is the third disc (which is a CD). It's a film that's not for everyone, but you'd probably enjoy it. I think it's pretty darn scary.

Is it just me or is the ending to Fulci's THE BEYOND the greatest horror movie ending of all time?

3 Replies Report to Moderator

Demoniac

Demoniac on 1/24/04 at 4:01 PM

Oh no, I agree. It's definitely up there with the best (although I'd say the ending to CARRIE is my all-time favorite). I love the way it really has no ending at all, just hangs there for you to interpret it. I recently watched THE BEYOND again, and it's weaker than I originally thought, with mediocre special effects and acting (although I love Catriona MacColl). But the atmosphere is stupendous, and it's still up there as one of Fulci's best.

I'd have to say its way up there on there as far as being one of the best endings in a horror film. I don't know if I'd consider it to be the best though.

The ending is quite excellent. It's very bleak and ambiguous, it leaves it up to you to decide what happens to them. One can only assume that they are stuck in "the beyond." I love the score too, very epic and haunting.

Introduction and Rules

Thanks for joining Foreign Horror, it should turn out to be a wonderful group.

There are a few things, however, that should be discussed right off the bat, such as the rules. I won't be strict or anything but any successful group, in my eyes, needs to have some kind of moderation.

First off and probably most importantly, be nice to everyone. I don't mind a couple little arguments here and there, but any insulting comments will not be tolerated. If you have a problem with someone, take it to private messages.

Also, I don't care if you stray a little off topic. Although this is a group for foreign horror films, I don't mind if there is a thread on American films or even something that isn't about films at all.

Finally, have a good time. If you have any problems, feel free to send me a private message.
