Disney has been out of the fairy tale business for a while, but as they revamp their animation production, it looks like they're pulling themselves back in.

In this CG feature, the studio tackles the classic story of Rapunzel, the princess who has spent all her life in a tower and has grown a wicked long set of blonde hair.

Metajokes and snark have become a requirement for animated fairy tales this decade, and Disney will have an interesting challenge on their hands in trying to convince audiences that movies like these can still be made with earnest attitudes.
