After picking up his long-delayed Best Director Oscar for The Departed, Martin Scorsese makes another trek from New York to New England for the period psychological thriller Shutter Island.

Leonardo DiCaprio stars as a fed who is tasked with investigating the disappearance of an inmate from a prison for the criminally insane, but soon finds the whole institution is not as it seems. Worse, they get stranded when a hurricane blows in. And if the DiCaprio/Scorsese pairing seems familiar, you're right: Shutter marks the fourth time that Scorsese and DiCaprio have teamed up on a film.

Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, and Michelle Williams lend support in Shutter Island based upon a novel by Dennis Lehane, who also penned Mystic River.
