Daniel Larusso and Dre Parker have something in common: no matter where in the world they find themselves, there?s a team of bullies ready to beat the stuffing out of them. Fortunately, they each have an eccentric mentor who?s available to school them in the ancient art of self-defense.

In this remake of The Karate Kid, Jaden Smith plays Dre, who, upon relocating with his mother (Taraji P. Henson) to China, learns sage advice from Mr. Han (Jackie Chan). The lesson plan likely includes how to wax on and off, how to avoid leg sweeps, and how to be the best around, to the point where no one will ever keep Dre down.

The Karate Kid hits theaters next Summer, and hopefully, it will be seen as a key stepping stone for Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's progeny, a la Hilary Swank in The Next Karate Kid.
