It's one thing to plan the perfect crime. The truly successful criminal also makes sure he's planned the perfect getaway -- a lesson painfully learned by bank robber Grimm (Bill Murray, making his directorial debut) in this adaptation of the Jay Cronley book. After holding up a Manhattan bank -- and then engineering a hostage situation to provide a cover for their escape -- Grimm and his accomplices (Geena Davis and Randy Quaid) are confronted with a harsh reality of living in the city: It can be a real pain in the neck to get out. Construction, muggers, non-English-speaking cabbies, the Mafia, a grizzled-yet-dogged police chief (Jason Robards) -- you name it, Grimm and company have to get through it in order to pull off the job.
