Australia
Opening: Nov 26, 2008
About The Movie: Baz Luhrmann returns to the silver screen to direct his first feature film since 2001’s Moulin Rouge, and he does so in grand style. Set against the backdrop of World War II, Australia is the epic, sweeping tale of an English woman (Nicole Kidman) who inherits a sizable cattle ranch “down under.” With the bombing of the city of Darwin on the horizon, she teams with a cattle driver (Hugh Jackman) to save the ranch. Fans of Luhrmann will appreciate his typical mastery of visual flair, and Kidman and Jackman bring both proven acting chops as well as star power to the picture. In true epic style, however, the film clocks in at 165 minutes, so make yourselves comfortable for the ride.
