The Princess and the Frog
Opening: Dec 11, 2009
About The Movie: It's been a banner year for animation, as we've been delighted with the likes of Up, Coraline, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Ponyo, and Fantastic Mr. Fox. But 2009 may be saving the best for last with Disney's long-gestating return to 2D animation: The Princess and the Frog. It's the studio's first in five years, and the first 2D "princess" movie in over a decade. The company has set up the right people (John Musker and Ron Clements, who revived Disney animation two decades earlier with The Little Mermaid) to helm Disney's twist on the girl-meets-frog, girl-kisses-frog fairy tale. (Opening in limited release.)
