Trailer Bulletin: "A History of Violence"
by Scott Weinberg | May 17, 2005
Discuss Article
Thanks to the official Cannes Film Festival website for posting the all-new trailer for David Cronenberg's "A History of Violence." The New Line Cinema release, which is presently scheduled to hit screens on September 30th, stars Viggo Mortensen ("The Lord of the Rings"), Maria Bello ("Auto Focus"), Ed Harris ("The Truman Show"), and William Hurt ("Dark City").

Based on the graphic novel by John Wagner & Vince Locke (and adapted for the screen by Josh Olson), "A History of Violence" is about a down-home family man who displays a startling talent for violence after being involved in a traumatic robbery. Director David Cronenberg is best known for films like "The Fly," "The Dead Zone," "Dead Ringers," and "Naked Lunch."

Looks too simmilar to the premise of "the long kiss goodnight". Remember that film with Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson ?
