Radha Mitchell to Climb the "Silent Hill" for TriStar Pictures
by Scott Weinberg | April 25, 2005
Discuss Article
The "Tomb Raider" movies had Angelina Jolie. The "Resident Evil" movies had Milla Jovovich. And now the "Silent Hill" movie has Radha Mitchell. Based on the popular video game series, "Silent Hill" was adapted into screenplay form by Roger Avary ("Pulp Fiction," "The Rules of Attraction"Wink and will be directed by French filmmaker Christophe Gans ("Brotherhood of the Wolf"Wink. Aussie actress Radha Mitchell is probably best known for her work in "Phone Booth" and "Pitch Black," and she can currently be seen in Woody Allen's "Melinda and Melinda." Production on "Silent Hill" starts this week in Toronto ... so it's probably a good thing they finally hired a lead actor.

I hope it doesnt suck...but the odds are against me
Silent Hill is perhaps the creepiest game I've ever played. It makes Doom and Resident Evil look like "Goosebumps". It has a lot of potential to be a good scary movie with a little depth...but the odds are always against a game-to-movie translation being worth anything.

why are the odds against you they have a good writer and a good director at the helm. i think this is the most promising video game movie yet. and Rhada Mitchel is a great choice for the lead.

Well... one thing is for sure: it won't be as hideous as the much-not-awaited Bloodwayne directed by... Uwe Boll !! (Now, THAT's scary)

This is getting better and better. Gans, Avery and now Mitchel. Believe me: if there`s ever going to be a classy and brilliant video game adaptation,it`s
NOW OR NEVER !

P.S.:I`ve heard Deborah Kara Unger is also onboard ;-)

OMG!
There going to mess it up! Silent Hill is creepy but is more that creepy it has a physchological sense to it. People like me should be making the movie, man thats why so many Hollywood movies suck! Old bums make the movie, they need young people with imagination. The director was the guy who made Brother Hood of the Wolf that movie sucked! It has good reviews but trust me that movie sucks, the storyline f**ks up. The writer, is the guy who wrote the rule of attraction omg that movie suked! But he did write pulp fiction, but it was an IF. The down fall of silent hill, the sound track, metal music, plot girl trapped in town with zombies. THERE NOT ZOMBIES! OMG! I've been a fan since i was 11. it says there are various people in town fighting to get out. WHAT!? There are no people in the game not many tho. If there are more than 5 "live" people in the town im going to freak out in the movies. I can make this movie way better than hollywood. Without using Cg and any of that stuff that old farts dont understand. dont they understand it looks fake? Star wars 3 looks fake as hell. ok im done :_(.
