Trailer Bulletin: Just My Luck
by Scott Weinberg | January 12, 2006
Discuss Article
Despite all the stupid paparazzi whatnot and non-stop controversy, the fact is that Lindsay Lohan is still quite an adorable mini-movie star. Her next comedy is called "Just My Luck," and it's a simple little high-concept rom-com that'll no doubt make big bucks at the box office. Check out the trailer right here ... if your browser allows it.

"Ashley is a young professional just out of college. She also happens to be the luckiest woman in the world, who has lived a super-charmed life and has always taken her good luck for granted. When she kisses a handsome stranger at a costume party, Ashley accidentally swaps her good fortune for his horribly bad luck, and her charmed life turns into a living hell."

Co-starring Chris Pine, Samaire Armstrong, and Faizon Love, and directed by Donald Petrie, "Just My Luck" hits theaters on May 12th. (Plus Stepehen Tobolowsky is in it.)

There should be a new genre of movies called "place-swapping" in which Lindsay Lohan has played many rolls.

Place-swapping is where one character trades places with another. Let's review Lindsay Lohan's career of place-swapping movies:
1. Parent Trap
2. Freaky Friday
3. Just My Luck

The movie Mean Girls almost makes that list, but it's not a true place-swapping movie.

And not to be vulgrar, but when on the topic of Lindsay Lohan and place-swapping it's hard not to think there's a breast implant joke in there somewhere.

Isn't it time for her to start thinking about taking serious roles?

She IS taking on more serious roles. She filming two upcoming dramas, and she just finished a Robert Altman/Meryl Streep film.

Serious Roles
I don't know that I'd call Prairie Home Companion a serious role, the movie is a light-hearted comedy.

Besides, she's still a teenager!

I wonder about people like her -- who have been famous their whole life. I mean, you'd like to think that people who have been rich and famous since birth would be down-to-earth people. ... but look at Michael Jackson. It's like a sports commentator said about high school athletes that become millionares overnight by getting drafted by the NBA, "There goes their sense of reality."
