Trailer Bulletin: The Benchwarmers
by Scott Weinberg | January 03, 2006
Discuss Article
Rob Schneider, David Spade, and Jon Heder will soon be teaming up for a sports comedy called "The Benchwarmers," as directed by the alarmingly consistent Dennis Dugan, and you can check out the all-new trailer for the farce right here.

"Gus and his nerdy buddies, Richie and Clark, are scouted by a miilionaire nerd, Mel, who wants to form a baseball team and compete with the meanest Little League teams in the state. A stellar ballplayer, Gus becomes a role model for nerds and outcasts everywhere. But when his fans learn that Gus, himself, was once a school bully, they feel outraged and betrayed, until Gus takes extraordinary steps to win back their admiration and trust."

Sony will release the flick on April 7th.

Dennis Dugan, for what it's worth, is the director of "Saving Silverman," "National Security," "Big Daddy," "Happy Gilmore," and "Beverly Hills Ninja."

I agree. John Heder iratates me too. I hate Napoleon Dynamite. I love Spade, but im not sure this movie is going to be all that good. Is that R2 D2 in one of the shots? I think it is..

Throw in a dancing bear, Jose Canseco playing Barry Bonds, & a Bengal Tiger and we got ourselves a hit...actually scrap the whole Benchwarmer movie, get rid of Rob Schneider, David Spade, and Jon Heder & replace them with a dancing bear, Jose Canseco playing Barry Bonds, & a Bengal Tiger and we got ourselves a MEGA hit.

Adam Sandler-produced movies stink as bad as ...
Adam Sandler-starring movies. When is that idiot going to relaize everything he touches is crap? Longest Yard. 50 First Dates. Waterboy. Yea, his movies may make $100 mil each, but pre-pubescent boys will pay for anything nowadays. How sad he is trying to become a serious actor. Spanglish? No. Punch Drunk Love? Get a clue. Try honing your comedy skills first.
