Synopsis: Memories can be distorted, twisted and buried alive, but they are hard to destroy. They come back and visit us in unexpected, explosive and sometimes terrifying ways. Academy Award nominee... Memories can be distorted, twisted and buried alive, but they are hard to destroy. They come back and visit us in unexpected, explosive and sometimes terrifying ways. Academy Award nominee Geneviève Bujold (Anne of the Thousand Days), Academy Award winner Louise Fletcher (One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest) and Lisa Brenner (The Patriot, What Boys Like) star in this story of memories forged in rage, twisted by betrayal and burned into the mind of a young girl. Intricately woven with emotion and suspense, Finding Home is a powerful story of a young woman's journey to unravel the mysteries of her turbulent past. Since childhood, Amanda has been plagued with clouded memories of her traumatic removal from her grandmother and the place she loved dearly. Now she must confront her family's troubled past and the pain she has long repressed when she is forced to return to her grandmother's enchanting bed and breakfast inn on a remote island off the New England coast. Through Amanda's fragmented remembrances, the events that shaped her childhood and tore her family apart begin to unfold – the legacy of secrets and betrayal, her conflicted feelings about the inn's young caretaker, the day her mother ripped her away from everything she loved – all leading to the final revelation that forces Amanda to re-evaluate her own life and values. This poignant story of three generations trapped in the shards of shattered memories also features Jeannetta Arnette (Boys Don't Cry), Misha Collins (Girl, Interrupted), Academy Award nominee Justin Henry (Kramer vs. Kramer), Johnny Messner (co-star of David Mamet's Spartan and opposite Bruce Willis in Hostage, Tears of the Sun and The Whole Ten Yards), and Academy Award nominee, Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Jason Miller (The Exorcist, That Championship Season) in his final performance. The award winning director-producer team Lawrence David Foldes and Victoria Paige Meyerink (Young Warriors, Malibu High) assembled an extraordinary group of talent to bring this story to life including director of photography Jeffrey Seckendorf (Judy Berlin), Emmy nominated composer Joseph Conlan (The Rosa Parks Story, The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn), editor Todd Ramsay (Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Escape From New York, The Thing), costume designer Jane Anderson (Hoosiers, Rudy), associate producer Michael Sloan (Tombstone, Basic Instinct, Jacob's Ladder), and the award winning sound team of The Saul Zaentz Film Center led by four-time Academy Award winner Mark Berger (The English Patient, Amadeus, The Right Stuff,Apocalypse Now). [The film] moves slowly and deflates completely when the over-hyped family secret turns out to be a dramatic dud.

A movie in which you can be sure that whenever a lovable old dog is in the frame, a cutely plaintive whine will be added to the sound mix.

Bujold anchors the film and brings to it a crucial sense of multiple levels. She and Fletcher, although seen only in flashbacks as Esther, lend crucial support to Brenner, as do others. There's more to Finding Home than may meet the eye.

Thomas Wolfe may have been right when he said you can't go home again. But, in this case, you really shouldn't.

Finding Home may have been created with a lot of sincerity and heart, but little of it comes through to the audience.

Captivating cinematography by Jeffrey Seckendorf and a charming performance by the still beautiful Genèvieve Bujold highlight a multi-tiered love story inside a delightful mystery.

What happens between these characters might be incredibly traumatic for them, but there's little in it for us.
