Trailer Bulletin: Ice Age 2: The Meltdown
by Scott Weinberg | July 13, 2005
Discuss Article
If you remember the goofy ol' teaser for "Ice Age," then you'll probably get a kick out of the all-new trailer for "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown." Yes, it's more acorn-lovin' lunacy from freaky little Scrat, and it's a great peek at the lovely animation from Blue Sky Studios.

Don't expect to see any footage from the movie, since "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown" isn't due in theaters until next March, but you'll get a few chuckles, and that's always nice.

Returning for the second "Ice" capade are Ray Romano ("Welcome to Mooseport"), Denis Leary ("The Ref"), and John Leguizamo ("Land of the Dead"), and they'll be joined by newcomers Queen Latifah ("Taxi") and Drea de Matteo ("The Sopranos"). Also back for a second spin are director Carlos Saldanha ("Robots") and screenwriter John Vitti ("The Simpsons").

I don't understand. I saw this teaser way back when I saw Robots. This isn't really news

Yeah, but now it has the logo. That makes it official.

Ice Age was awful. Robots was awful. Someone stop these people!

ah, i guess youre right about the logo thing...the least they could have done was make a different teaser though.

Both the original Ice Age and Robots were very mediocre. None were awful, but none were really that good or memorable.

Ok, Ice Age was meh, but that is the best teaser trailer I have seen in a while! I'll be there on opening day.

We can all sleep now.

Worst CG movie ever, but damn did the teaser for it kick ass... as does this one. The only cool moment in the film belonged to that little squirrel thing.

The first one was alright. As for the worst CG movie ever, how about watching Shark Tale.

Don't have to see Shark Tale. I watched the trailer and a few brief clips that were playing in a Hi-Fi shop. That was more than enough to put me off. Talk about a lot of lame jokes. I mean, I spotted more dumb and unfunny puns in those few excerpts than there were in Batman and Robin!

Just watched the trailer, and have noticed an important new deviation from the original plot. Now Scrat is trying to pull the nut *out* of the ice instead of trying to force it *in*. Sometimes it's the little things that count.

Ice Age II
I loved the first movie. Enjoyed I Robot. And I adore Scat! That is all I'm going to say.

Robots was great visually, but the story was pretty familiar. Ice Age was great... that's because I emulate Denis Leary. Heh.

Funny teaser!

Shark Tale, Robots, Ice Age, Finding Nemo all sucked!

this teaser will be the best part of Ice Age 2 as well...

Ice Age was fine -- spiking dramatically with the squirrel. That thing is hilarious. Almost as good as the gangly bird in the short film For The Birds.

Finding Nemo sucked, come on wildseid. Obviusly you just don't like animated movies.
