Has an impeccable technical package and unsullied performances, but its plot proceeds at the sluggish speed of the voyage across the Atlantic it so painstakingly portrays.
Brides is a moving insight into many lives at their crossroads, young women sent by their families to the New World in the hope of a better life.
A sensitive journey with a pack of cult actors (Ferreol,Berkoff) and a great leading lady, reminiscent of Titanic,in Greek terms nonetheless.Voulgaris uses a big budget cuisine but mixes the ingredients in a conventional manner.Unlike his previous, masterful work, this mainly serves to impress the international audience.
