Weaver Joining Cameron's "Avatar"?
Sigourney Weaver is having a busy year: Not only is her voice in theaters now, as the wicked stepmother in "Happily N'Ever After," but she'll also be seen in the upcoming films "The Girl in the Park" and "Vantage Point" ... and now JoBlo.com is reporting that a scooper from Ain't it Cool News has learned that Weaver will soon be reteaming with her "Aliens" director, James Cameron, in a big-budget sci-fi film.

An Old Friend Checks Out James Cameron's New "Avatar"
Well here's some James Cameron news that's interesting if not all that surprising: In addition to the already-cast Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, the "Avatar" director looks to be interested in hiring an old friend for his new movie. (I'm pretty sure he's been in all Cameron's movies except for "Titanic." Can you name him?)

"Alien vs. Predator" Sequel Promises to Be "Hardcore"
One of the biggest complaints regarding "Alien vs. Predator" (among many) was that it was, well, kinda wimpy -- especially considering the high-end carnage we were treated to in "Alien," "Aliens," "Predator," and "Predator 2" -- but the sequel-makers seem hell-bent on amping up the nastiness for their follow-up. And that's pretty good news, I suppose.

James Cameron Still Deciding Between "Battle Angel" and a New "Project"
Writer/director/technology enthusiast James Cameron ("Aliens," "The Abyss") was planning to get started filming "Battle Angel" at the end of the year, but The Hollywood Reporter indicates that the ever-busy filmmaker might just have another project lined up first. No information has yet been divulged regarding "Project 880," other than the information that "Battle Angel" might be taking a bit longer to adapt than previously anticipated.
