Critic Review - Bloody Disgusting

MEAT TRAIN is the first BOOK OF BLOOD to depart from the station in a long time and it's refreshing to see that the film carries that bleak, yet romantic touch of Clive Barker all over it... it's guaranteed to make you squirm, scream and beg for more!

I better be squirming and begging, but I don't scream cause I'm a man, did you actually scream Brad?

Dayne Rzeszkowski

This is certifiably one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I wasn't shocked, upset, made uncomfortable nor impressed by the 'gore' (which amounts to little more than blatantly fake looking CGI blood-effects and people's heads being severed by blunt instruments = impossible).

The acting was absolutely appalling, Bradley Cooper continues to be (IMO) one of the most overrated actors of the last decade (refer 'Case 39'), and the plot was not developed well at all. They give shonky, unclear timelines as to the amount of time that has passed whilst this photographer descends into madness, feeling like he's been on the butcher's tail for about 2 hours when he 'descends into madness'. Therefore I was not able to personalise or empathise with his 'obsession'. Refer to Memento for a true capture of descent into madness and obsession with someone/something.

So he's running about 'obsessed' with something he's been doing for about 2 days, and his gf is seeing the 'effects' of this 'obsession'.

The ending, IDC if it's faithful to the novel, was pathetic. If the book, which one shouldn't have to read to understand a film adaptation, not at all, develops the ending well, then hats off to the book. The movie either does NO justice to the ending of the novel, or the ending of the novel, and thus ending of this movie is pathetic, absurd and plainly derivative and loosely developed.

'YOU MUST COMPLY WITHOUT QUESTION' says the moronic, bad-acting train conductor. And apparently he does.
