on Oct 16 2007 01:16 PM I've got a question: Since when do hacks like DePalma get enough clout to make anything like this film? I used to think that when your movies consistently bomb at the box office, the suits in Hollywood took away the money (see the careers of Steven Seagal, Jean-Claude Van Damme, etc). The last time this guy had his name attached to something that made money was 11 years ago, and it was underneath Tom Cruise's. This movie'll bomb like his others have, and it's not going to be an issue of subject matter, it's the man himself. "Black Dahlia", "Snake Eyes", "Raising Cain", hell, the man could've remade "Psycho" like Gus Van Sant did, and he still would've been criticized for copying Hitchcock (a better filmmaker, by far). The politics are one thing, but you need to consider who's behind the message, and are they worth the time and money. Your time and money. (Reply to this) |

on Nov 12 2007 12:12 PM If we don't like a movie about this subject perhaps we should work harder to make sure it doesn't actually happen in real life. As a female veteran i can attest that the state of female/male relations in the military has great high points where men and women can bond in ways not possible in civilian life and HORRIBLE lows where our own female service members are raped by male service members. I believe this comes from an inherent tactics in military training that dehumaize the enemy and women. This training comes to a terrible crux in the case of Abeer. You can't let these soldiers excape blame for thier own actions but if you really want to make sure this doesn't happen in the future you have to look at how our military and society are trained to think. on Nov 17 2007 01:02 AM Hey Army Sgt!!! Way to back stab all your fellow military brthren. That " Debase women and the enemy" comment. What crap!!! That is false and you know it. I was in the Marines and served in Iraq. Never once were women debased to me or the enemy. I hate the enemy becouse they are exactly that amd I witnessed it with my own eyes. I was and am friends with several female military personnel and not one of them would agree with you. I don't what stick you have up your a$$ about the miltary but get over it. (Reply to this) |

I just don`t know way you (americans)"want to see me and my family dead", when you send 4 bombs 400 metars from my home in Belgrade (Serbia). And I`m certenly not an Al qaida member, or even a muslim. (Reply to this) |
