Critic Review - New York Post

The Garden is an especially fatuous documentary, nominated for an Oscar this year, about a community garden in South Central LA where Latino farmers have been allowed to grow food on somebody else's land.

What an irresponsible comment. Kyle smith is a prime example of why most critics add no value to society. The farmers were not squatters; Jan Perry the LA representative of the 9th district was bribed by Ralph Horowitz to sell city property at 70% lower than fair value and the deal was not made public knowledge and kept behind closed doors. Jan Perry and Ralph Horowitz along with the Mayor bulldozed down one of the largest parks in USA (can you imagine NYC allowing central park to be bulldozed?!). The "so called" squatters were poor minorities that had a legal agreement with the city in order to feed themselves. The sale to Ralph Horowitz was illegal and cost taxpayers over $11.2 million dollars.

If you too disagree with Kyle Smith and would like to hold him accountable, do the following:

1) write his editor at and boycott his reviews

2) Do not buy his books "Love Monkey" or "A Christmas Caroline" and rate them terribly on

3) Tell your friends to boycott and write reviews that expose Kyle Smith via facebook, Digg, twitter, rotten tomatoes
