This is the first time I've ever known exactly who was going to win in every category except Independant Movie. I think that's a toss up between Inglorious Basterds and District 9, though I'm leaning more District 9. These are my predictions:

Actor - Robert Pattinson

Actress - Sandra Bullock

Action Star - Hugh Jackman, possibly Gerard Butler

Comedic Star - Ryan Reynolds

Breakout Movie Actress - Miley Cyrus

Breakout Movie Actor - Taylor Lautner

On Screen Team - Twilight Saga

Comedy - The Hangover, possibly The Proposal

Movie - New Moon

Franchise - Twilight Saga

These aren't necessarily my choises, but how I think/know the American Public will vote.

I'm in Shock and Awe that the only person in the world right now woman find more attractive then Edward Cullen is Johnny Depp. I seriously though, Ugh, another MTV Twilights award show and the fact that Johnny Depp trounced the Farie is just shocking to me. I'm blown away! New moon winning best franchise over whats listed isn't surprising though intersting that it didn't make as much money as its fellow nominees is odd.

I think it once again proves that woman Hate Robert Pattinson and just love the character Edward. I also find it hillarious that Kirsten Stewart didn't win. I don't know a Twi-hard that likes her much at all. Well they shouldn't like her, after all she is stealing Edward from them.

Taylor Lautner being the only cast member winning out a single award...big win for Team Jacob? HA

Nah but seriously, Peoples choice have always been way to annoying. Miley Cyrus break out actress? What she acts now?

Zoe Saldana is incredible, which is probably why the voters never heard of her.

ya........this is basically lets give the worst films we can think of awards. how films like 500 hundred days of summer even graced these god forsaken awards with being nominated il never know. I mean I'm a twilight fan but by no means would I give the movies awards or put them on my top ten lists EVER

The images for Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, and maybe Miley Cyrus pretty much sum up these awards.

I mean, good lord... I almost thought these were the Kid's Choice awards. Are these people serious? And am I allowed to say these things?

I was just thinking the same thing! It's like a bunch of teenagers got together and voted for these! (I am also a teenager, but not proud of it, lol)

Hey this is a good representation of what people actually like, which is a sign that the golden globes and oscars are so out of touch with reality. Peoples choice is voted for by the people for the people. The others are voted on by idiotic old men that think their opinions are fact. Thus the reason why animation has been f'ed over for so long

Sinister Minister

Sinister Minister on 01-6-2010 07:53 AM

I don't know about you, but the majority of the people i know hate twilight, transformers 2, wolverine, bride wars and some of that other garbage. this is representation of what 12 year olds like.

Playboy Slim

Playboy Slim on 01-6-2010 02:52 PM

No noe thinks their opinion is fact just because they disagree with you. Although the Oscars and Glibes are pretty much a joke.

Playboy Slim

Playboy Slim on 01-6-2010 02:55 PM

noe is one, and Glibes is Globes.

And the person who is making a fool of him and/or herself by defending these awards as if they're on trail needs a big glass of shut the **** up.

"And the person who is making a fool of him and/or herself by defending these awards as if they're on trail needs a big glass of shut the **** up."

Who are you talking about? I'm assuming Culter since your prior post was towards him.

BLaCKWoLF

BLaCKWoLF on 01-6-2010 03:06 PM

@ Ledawg - I only partly agree with you about the Oscars and Globes. I dont really think much of the awards themselves, but I do appreciate it when actual great and deserving actors get the acknowledgment/ recognition that they truly deserve (Paul Newman would be my fav. example).

BlackPanther

BlackPanther on 01-7-2010 08:33 AM

Cutler. I am ashamed that you are from Chicago. You little *****. Calling people nerds? You are just like that gigantic dousche that just bothers everyone and tries to act tough, yet no one likes you. Why don't you just kill yourself? Because all you're doing is just pissing people off. You **** rag idiot.

universalexperiment

universalexperiment on 01-7-2010 05:15 PM

Dude!! People follow what they are being followed!! The movies like Hurt Locker may not win an audience award because perhaps not many people know about it because there is not much hype! General audience sees only so called "Well marketed" movies. You can not blame Oscar judges because you see only commercial cinema! Can you ever imagine Miley Cyrus to be best actreess? Dude Give me a break!!

Though I do agree with your point in animation!! Animations films have long sad history of negligence from best movie oscar

Gil G.

Gil G. on 01-7-2010 10:09 PM

"cutler to the rescue" said that the Peoples Choice are "Peoples choice is voted for by the people for the people. The others are voted on by idiotic old men that think their opinions are fact." NO! PEOPLE'S CHOICE SHOWS ARE VOTED BY WOMEN FOR WOMEN! and are in themselves Out of reality! If everyone voted, Twilight would never earn a goddamn recognition. It has a 4 in IMDB. It seems like the only people that give a **** are the same adolescent dip****s that finger themselves to a guy with no acting experience and a great body. So go **** yourself. You're as biased as the "idiotic old me" that you are criticizing! the Golden Globes and Academy Awards are given to REAL actors, REAL writers, and people deserving of recognition. Not some viral video idiots that cannot distinguish the difference between a film and a movie!

Lithlius Nailo

Lithlius Nailo on 01-7-2010 10:27 PM

These awards are a Joke. Yes golden Globes and Oscars sometimes sit too high in their expectations and forget about many good movies but i mean really. You have to admit the Choice awards are voted mostly by mindless drones. Tell me one good thing you can get out of a twilight film! and How the hell they win best movie and best Franchise? I believe that the most accurate one would have been Harry Potter considering that not many gron ups vote and young people know little of startrek

Id call these the Teen Fan girls awards. Cause literally about 80% of voters seem to be girls between the ages of 12-16.

I really dont get why Rotten Tomatoes would keep loosing their time with these contests

Seandogg

Seandogg on 01-7-2010 11:14 PM

Ummm, I'm 29 and I love the Twilight movies. May be if you actually read the books and watched the movies you could make a valid point on here!

Tyler W.

Tyler W. on 01-8-2010 07:48 AM

really did you see half of the movies i saw twilight it was so bad like no joke. Robert Pattinson sucks at acting. There were so many good movies that were not nominated. I think you should watch more films than just the twilight films. The peoples joice awards is a joke. It may be fun to watch but nothing the less a joke. You are right that the academy should see what other people like into consideration but twilight should never be nominated for anything its terrible, the worst movie of the year.

Cutler to the rescue

Cutler to the rescue on 01-5-2010 10:27 PM

its good to see great films like harry potter, star trek and The Hangover get some love they deserve while they are forgotten by the other crappy awards

NTROST

NTROST on 01-5-2010 10:47 PM

Haha...I swear, the People's Choice Awards is a total joke fest. Why don't they call this the Mindless Choice Awards or Joke-Fest Choice Awards. This just shows whoever voted has absolute no understanding of film & it's craft. Just from the looks of it, It seems the tween/teen demographic dominated the polls. If there weren't any solidified films like "Star Trek", "Inglorious Basterds", "District 9", "(500) Days Of Summer", "The Hangover" & "Harry Potter". This could almost pass as the Razzie Awards with a few changes made but damn! this is just simply pathetic overall.

I would love to go through each catagory to show the negatives & positives in all this but I don't have time. I can say the negatives out way the positives though by miles.

ColinTheCimmerian

ColinTheCimmerian on 01-5-2010 10:58 PM

Haha, well in defense of the People's Choice Awards, most 'People' (as in the general populace) *don't* have much understanding of film and its craft, so it's not really surprising, even if it may be unfortunate. I agree with everything else you said though; the fact that even 'the People' gave out that many nominations to Wolverine disturbs me.

NTROST

NTROST on 01-6-2010 12:13 AM

@Colin

What's even probably more disturbing is the fact you can pretty much predict the winners in this just by the way the public has picked.

Predictions Of The Public's Winners:

Movie Actor: Robert Pattinson
Movie Actress: Kristen Stewart
Action Star: Shia LaBeouf
Comedic Star: Ryan Reynolds
Breakout Actress: Miley Cyrus
Breakout Actor: Taylor Lautner
On-Screen Team: The Twilight Saga: New Moon
Independent: Inglourious Basterds (wouldn't surprise me though if Madea: Goes To Jail wins)
Comedy: The Proposal
Movie: The Twiligh Saga: New Moon
Franchise: The Twilight Saga: New Moon

It's just again, pathetic because you can almost see this is how it will probably layout.

Shane S.

Shane S. on 01-5-2010 11:03 PM

My choices:

Movie Actor: Ryan Reynolds.
Movie Actress: Um...Anne Hathaway? I didn't actually see any movies with these actresses this year.
Action Star: Christian Bale.
Comedic Star: Still gonna have to say Ryan Reynolds.
Breakout Actress: Zoe Saldana. Two great movies this year and more in the works.
Breakout Actor: Tough one. Not Taylor Lautner. I guess I'll say Sam Worthington.
On-Screen Team: Harry Potter, although I wish I could say Star Trek.
Independent: District 9
Comedy: The Hangover
Movie: Star Trek
Franchise: Harry Potter

Tom L.

Tom L. on 01-6-2010 01:39 AM

Looking at the past winners of these things... apparently the teen girl demographic does not have a strong history of flooding the votes with whatever bull**** is popular among them that year. There's a pretty decent chance that Twilight won't sweep the movie awards.

Tom L.

Tom L. on 01-6-2010 01:43 AM

You know, normally I'd agree but I'll tell you, I know more 40-year-old women that scream for the Twilight Saga than I've seen teens. It's really pretty sickening. And these are the same women who ridicule their husbands for "geeking out" over Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. I don't want to hear anymore of that crap!

Eric B.

Eric B. on 01-7-2010 04:32 PM
