Weekly Ketchup: Angry Birds Movie in the Works
This week's Ketchup includes news of several CGI animated movies (Angry Birds, Hotel Transylvania and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2), as well as new roles for two of the stars of Bridesmaids and Super 8 (in the same movie).

Producer Thinks Naomi Watts is for "The Birds"
It's remake heaven. Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller has his sights on adding "The Birds" to his slate -- which already includes "The Hitcher," "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," "Amityville Horror" and "Friday the 13th." And "King Kong" remake veteran Naomi Watts is his first pick for the Tippi Hedren role.

Like Horror Remakes? Get Ready for a Bunch More.
Professional remake house Platinum Dunes and Universal's genre arm (Rogue Pictures) have signed a deal -- and the result will be (at least) four more horror remakes. On deck are redos of "The Hitcher," "Near Dark," "The Changeling," and "The Birds."

Platinum Dunes Announces "Birds" Remake
I know, I know: You hear the phrase "Birds remake" and you start getting all fidgety and mad. That's a good reaction to have. But producer Brad Fuller wants to make one thing perfectly clear: The new-fangled version of "The Birds" is a new re-telling of the original short story, period. Those expecting stuff found in the Hitchcock flick will probably be disappointed.
