Critic Review - 7M Pictures

Looking at the film with a totally modern set of eyes, completely detached from the hype of Newman and Redford in the late 60s, I didn't find a connection to the movie.

Just watched it now for the first time, and I was pleasantly surprised. There was good chemistry and banter between Newman and Redford, and I thought the direction and cinematography were superb. And it was well paced and entertaining, unlike many older films. Each to their own, I suppose.

I just watched King Kong (1933) with modern eyes, and hmm.. didn't find a connection. There was no color and boy those special effects were hyped up back then.

Seriously you can't ONLY look at a film with modern eyes, that's such a terrible way to review older films.
