Critic Review - Chicago Reader

This 1976 thriller, about a high school outcast (Sissy Spacek) who uses her telekinetic powers to massacre the graduating class, contains a number of interesting ideas. But as with most of his films, De Palma can't keep track of them.

Argh this critic appears to be making a living out of dismissing any decent film, granted he's just as bad as Vincent Canby or Armound White!

Yes. Dave Kehr IS a shmuck AND looks like a woman (but nevermind that). This is the umpteenth review I've read by him that EVERYONE else likes but him. I think he's just trying to raise some hackles. Or he despertely needs attention. What a shmuck.

Hey to Dave i know every one is entitled to their opinion.....In my opinion you are a complete idiot.
Your'e review tells the story of a psychopath....And it's the complete opposite.
In your'e synopsis u never mentioned the victim of mental torture....Which the film is actually about. My email address is if you want to argue this point!....Thanks

Carrie is as deep as Revenge of the Nerds. Great source material, terrible adaptation ? Stephen King must be used to it by now.

What the heck has he been smoking? This one of the greatest thriller of all times. I think he's just trying to get attention from everyone else and I totally agree with Tom B. when he said that here we have a frustrated movie director
