A peppy film, helped along considerably by the inherent eye candy that comes along with setting a film in the Pacific... Harryhausen at his best.
Watchable only because of the terrific stop-motion animation of Ray Harryhausen.
Joan Greenwood's regally unflappable Lady Mary Fairchild proves again ... that her voice distills Victoria's Empire to the creamy consistency of warm butterscotch pudding.
Still fun, but dated special effects.
Harryhausen's special effects plus a Hermmann score, unbeatable.
