it is a ripoff, which is why it took me awhile to actually watch the flick cuz i'm a fan of Rear Window. i will say Disturbia was pretty good though. but in reality, aren't about half of movies released nowadays a ripoff of past movies?

My thoughts exactly. If they didn't promote it in ads or press materials as a remake or reimagining - which I don't believe they did - then I don't see what the problem is. If an actor eluded to similarities, so what.
