They seriously need to fix the ratings system, it has been broken for some time now. It is pretty bad that I don't have a problem (as most parents haven't) of taking my kid to see Transformers, but wouldn't dare take her to see Alien vs. Predator.

PG16 wouldn't be a bad idea, but lets face it, when theaters are suffering and have been for years and Hollywood is making a lot more money off of these PG13 films and less so from those rated R, you can see how there is probably a lot of clout and money keeping this becoming a reality.

The problem with the US ratings system is there are no clearly defined guidelines.

The problem with US rating system is NOBODY CARES except people who want to control what everyone else is doing. As if anybody should have the right to tell me what's appropriate or not. Especially when nudity is seen as more damaging than the worst brutalities.

Happy Birthday, PG-13. May you have 25 more years of Jackie Chan buddy comedies, Scary Movie franchises, and the occasional romantic comedy starring Matthew McConaughey and Katherine Heigl.

Actually, you are allowed one F word in a non-sexual context in a PG-13 movie.

The most F bombs I've heard in a PG-13 movie is three: 1 clearly and 2 muffled. I think it was The American President. But the most cursing by far is the Nutty Professor II: The Klumps.

On television ratings, I don't think partially bleeping curse words on cable programs like The Daily Show is the same thing as not using them. Yet, here in America, even shows that don't have bleep worthy cursing at all are still rated TV-14 for Language same as the The Daily Show. Now I love the Daily Show and I don't have kids, I've just always that was a peculiarity of our rating system.
