Critic Review - Chicago Sun-Times

A description of it would sound like a cliche from beginning to end. But Rocky isn't about a story, it's about a hero. And it's inhabited with supreme confidence by a star.

Rocky is by far the greatest Sports film ever made, nothing comes close and unlike other genres like Video game adaptation Rocky is even a contender with some other of the greatest films ever mad e.g. toy story, Jaws, The Empire Strikes Back, Lord of the rings and Spider-man 2.

" Rocky is by far the greatest Sports film ever made, nothing comes close" I guessing you never say Raging Bull?

implying movies that feature some sort of sport should be categorized as "sports movies;" the drama, tension, and overall content of raging bull elevates it to more than just being some "sports film" like the mighty ducks.

If you truly believe Rocky should be in the top ten (especially Roger's) then there must be something wrong with you.

rocky is unrealistic and horrendously acted, it may be uplifting but for me it stops thier, its a good film but its certainly not one of the best movies of all time.

Funny you call it "unrealistic" seeing how it was inspired by a true story.

Who said it needed to be realistic? The performances are nowhere near horrendous, ok at worst, but horrendous would more describe Tommy Wiseau
