Oh excuse me, sir. You must have clicked on the wrong movie, because you said paint-by-numbers. So its safe to assume you didn't mean Rocky is paint-by-numbers, ri-right?
Yeah! of course!! This movie is pretty bad right? WRONG!!! Am I'm in ''the scent of a woman'' because I think I'm blind. I can't wait to look at the other reviews that you made for 2,3,,4,5,and balboa.
If not for the unfortunate use of color symbolism, RUSSIA? CHINA? What the hell are you talking about? Never have I read or heard the notion that those colors meant anything like what you are saying! This is all in your head. You took something and ran with it yourself. Then made a decision based on something that is not fact. The Uncle Sam thing was because it was 1976 and it was the USA's Birthday. And if anything it would have been ROCKY in the USA costume. He was the HERO. When did you review this film, last week? You say PAINT-BY-NUMBERS? Every Movie after ROCKY is paint by the Numbers. I'm curious to see what you gave THE KARATE KID?
This review is as bad as Variety's review of John Carpenter's Halloween, where they said Halloween is "just another maniac-on-the-loose suspenser". Halloween was the FIRST "maniac-on-the-loose suspenser". They reviewed it completely out of context like this "critic" did. Here's Variety's review:
You really are an idiot. How is this film paint by numbers if the hero loses at the end? Also, your obsession with "color symbolism" had me in stitches. Your review read like a paper an inept film student wrote in five minutes while on the can.
Seriously this guy has misinterpreted a lot. First get the colors right, Rocky wasn't wearing red and yellow, he was wearing red and white, so his shorts have absolutely nothing to do with communism. What they do (in one sense) represent is a parallel character to Creed, but on a far lower standard. Creed had elegant red, white, and blue shorts, Rocky had simple red and white shorts. Creed gives advice to kids, Rocky to one kid, and so on. They contrast in many ways also, but I'm not going to give a full review, I was just making a point about proper observation.

if the underdog loses at the end, how is that paint by numbers?
