De Niro vs. Pacino: The Video Game
by Scott Weinberg | May 10, 2006
Discuss Article
They did it to "The Warriors." They did it to "The Godfather." And now they're doing it to one of Michael Mann's most widely-admired movies. Yes, get ready for "Heat: The Video Game."

Says Variety: "Regency Enterprises and Titan Prods. are developing a videogame followup to the Michael Mann-helmed 1995 thriller. Game is currently in early development by Gearbox Software, best known for WWII game "Brother in Arms."

Neither Mann nor stars Robert De Niro and Al Pacino are currently involved, but game producers hope to get them on board soon. Just as the film follow the conflicting paths of a thief and the police officer out to get him, game will let players take either role. "Heat" is targeted for release in late 2007."

Oh yeah, there's a "Jaws" game coming out this summer, too. It looks pretty darn cool.

Good deal
The Godfather game was actually suprisingly good, and The Warriors was nothing new, but a nice treat. I think this'll follow in the same footsteps.

Wierd, Heat is in my top ten movies so my first thought is to be a little tedious.

But it is fanfucking tastic action movie and I bet the heist shootout will be just as thrilling and well done as the movie.
