Are we all on Candid Camera? It's awful! I hate it! Don't do this to my RT! It used to be so cool and so useful and so easy and so awesome. There. Have I made myself clear? Thank you! Are we all on Candid Camera? It's awful! I hate it! Don't do this to my RT! It used to be so cool and so useful and so easy and so awesome. Just finding a review on a DVD is now excruciatingly difficult. And it's almost impossible to tell which reviewer's comments we're reading. It's maddening!! It's horrible!! It's a disaster!! There. Have I made myself clear? Thank you! (Reply to this) |

moviemonkey2 writes: on Jan 16 2008 08:17 PM This sucks. I come here regularly for the news, and you stick it on the bottom? I don't give a **** about the celebrities, or whatever the Total Recall is or the people on this site. I want the tomatometer, and current movie news. Why the hell is there even the celebrities bit? Is this site going the way of the Perez Hilton gossip crap, because nothing would drive me away faster. Go back to green. Make it slicker, not busier. Listen to the people. (Reply to this) |

moviemonkey2 writes: on Jan 16 2008 08:33 PM Wow. I can't even hit the page numbers to see more comments. Once that simple feature is working, someone should tally up the comments in this page and the one with the new Editor talking about the new site, and make a Tomatometer for the new site. Does anyone think it'll be rated fresh? I'm guessing maybe a 20% or so. (Reply to this) |

ilLogik writes: on Jan 16 2008 11:00 PM not digging the new layout at all. and i REALLY don't like the layout when you click on a movie title. i liked how the Cream of the Crop use to be on the right, and the rest of the pack was on the left...and i'm gonna miss not being able to leave "comments" for Steve Rhodes every time he gives a great movie a bad review. scorpion_renderlord writes: on Jan 16 2008 11:03 PM We don't need a million navigation bars. I miss the old layout, with the movie info on the left, the cream of the crop on the right.. It was beautifully simple and intuitive. This new look is just too shiny and overblown! The old one felt more like I was on some kinda hip farm, which I loved. I usually visit RT daily, but this excruciatingly shiny new version makes me uncomfortable with ever coming back again. (Reply to this) |

rgallitan writes: on Jan 16 2008 11:59 PM Color scheme is mostly okay for me. Except the denim blue font. It doesn't seem to be fitting in. It might work as an accent here or there for very specific things, like user names. But there's so much of it everywhere - but only in text. It has no match in the underlying design elements. It's very disconcerting. And the home page is terrible. WAAAAAAAYYY too busy. I think I see what's going on here - it looks more like IGN's home page. Which is also pretty bad, but not this bad. At least one other person mentioned this, but it bears repeating: WTF is news doing down at the bottom? A lot of people come to this site for a lot of different reasons. But NOBODY comes here for EVERY reason. And they NEVER WILL. The homepage has now become a conglomeration of ads for all the things there are to see and do here, which only guarantees that every single person who comes here is going to consider at least a few of those modules to be distracting clutter. You have the neat set of links on the top bar of the page. Anyone interested in those specialty areas can follow those links without trouble. The main page should be about reviews and headlines ONLY. Put in a sidebar for special interests if you insist, but keep it out of the way. On the slightly less negative side, I can say that this new design is not nearly as bad a decline from the previous version as the previous version was from the one before that. It was prettier, but the redesigned layout of news links/sidebars and vastly reduced commenting functionality is a tragedy that I'm still hoping will be corrected. (Reply to this) |

Raging Phil writes: on Jan 17 2008 01:30 AM The most infuriating aspect of the new design that I%u2019ve found is that there%u2019s no option to view all of the critics on a single page, and instead you have to click through every page to find the review you%u2019re looking for. Also, you can%u2019t list them in the same simplified way that you could in the past when sorting them by name, rating, etc. Otherwise, the new design is a bit garish and cluttered, but it%u2019s not too bad and we%u2019ll probably get used to it before long. sistrunk writes: on Jan 17 2008 03:13 AM While I appreciate RT staying dynamic in today's ever-changing web, I must say that I REALLY DON'T LIKE the new layout. Like everyone else is saying, the previous layout was easy on the eyes, and even easier to navigate. All of that is gone now! My eyes hurt! (Reply to this) |

dennischu22 writes: on Jan 17 2008 04:01 AM Although some parts of the site look nice, many of the navigational features have been made more complex and intricate, whereas it used to be very easy. I don't where to look for things that used to be in plain sight, and that's pretty frustrating. Perhaps if the editorial staff made it an option whether or not to switch over, like some other sites usually do before upgrading a beta stage into the mainstream. (Reply to this) |

FILMCZY writes: on Jan 17 2008 07:38 AM If it hasn't already been said, I think you need to dump the critic pictures. They are worthless and the site looks incomplete and messy with photo/no photo interferring with space that should be devoted to the actual reviews. (Reply to this) |
