i'm glad the banner image made, as that's the one i voted for in the poll. however the overall layout seems pretty busy. of course, this coming from the creator of halobabies.net, which is as simple as it can possibly get lol ;)i'm sure all the whiners will get used to things and stop complaining. it was a shock for me at first, but it's already growing on me.

wow, guess everyone hates the new site. it kind of reminds me of where a lot of american design is going now: super-homogonized with a light-and-bright color scheme. like those new dunkin donuts commercials where everything just feels glossy and fake.
I think that once everything is in working order, it will be an improvement on the old site (which did feel dark and somewhat archaic), but on the old site you could just kind of settle into it, whereas this is like a piece of IKEA furniture: modern, but manufactured and without an inviting feel.

the old design was horrible and this looks ten times better. That said, it could be more organized on the main page but still a lot better than the old one. The last design looked like something right out of the 90's.
Didn't you read A Gremlin designed this page." * once we find the gremlin. "

It looks like you guys are trying to be new and hip...come on guys, i dont wanna sound ungrateful for the work you did but it certainly seems like you are taking a step back...and where are the top three popular threads on the front page?!!! Geez you guys were always my favorite site, i dont know if i can say that anymore
Jan 16 - 09:56 AM
I know it takes time to adjust, but I don't particularly want to. The old design was simple and that is the key.

wow...you nerds are really b3tchy. get over it, this forum sounds like a nursing home gripefest. good god...shutdown and go watch Matlock. don't like it? don't log on. pretty simple guys. i think the new stuff is ok...looks a bit familiar though, i can't figure out why...

Or.. since everyone is disappointed with the new site... maybe we could tell them, and they'll come back to their senses and change it.

When I click on page 2 it takes me to some other page with nothing to do with these topics. So I realize that someone spent alot of time on this.I also realize that I will probably eventually adjust to it.Currently though it is kind of painful to view.First: I really miss the news items being closer to the top of the page.It was nice coming to the site and instantly seeing the news right there.Second: The Review pages are harder to deal with now.The first thing that comes to mind is how much scrolling I must do to get to actually read reviews. Maybe not have the reviews 1/2 the way down the page? Also I really miss the clear Cream of the Crop section. Third: The entire layout just seems more crowded.

Just give us the option to use the old site layout at least!!! I really I am not feeling this layout what so ever.
Jan 16 - 11:09 AM
I think the old site is a lot cleaner and easier to read than the new beta. All those huge heavy tomato colored banners are harsh on the eyes. It looks quite jumbled. I like the features idea, but it is pretty small. If it is the "features" than shouldn't it be "featured?" Larger and more prominent. Also, I think the majority of us come here for the news, not bio's on community members. News has been pushed down to the bottom. It should be right under the features in a prominent position. For me at least, Rotten Tomatoes is for News and Movie Reviews, that's what I would like to be the focus. All the other junk can be "special features" on the second disc.

My obvious annoyance is caused by all the white backgrounds; it's too plain and boring to read. What happened to all the dark greens?
Jan 16 - 11:23 AM
well in trying to view page 2, i found another bug... clicking on the "2" takes me to the home page. FYI.and i for one really like the new design. a lot cleaner and less "amateurish" looking. keep up the good work guys!

Really hate to sound like I%u2019m jumping on the bandwagon, but I have to echo the previous complaints.
Pretty colors seem to have been over thought at the expense of functionality. Any %u201Cimprovements%u201D should be exactly that. While I still prefer RT to imdb, I have no choice but to look there first due to your technical problems. So far, clicking on 2 of the first 4 links I tried today returned me to the home page, for example.
You%u2019ve stated that you are aware of many technical issues, and while I%u2019m certainly no expert, I get frustrated as a consumer when %u201Cnew and improved%u201D products are released with known defects to be fixed at a later time.
Just *get it right the first time* and your efforts will be rewarded with customer loyalty.
This has the potential to return to the top movie site, but you%u2019ve got a long way to go.
Please make future changes for the better, i.e. functionality over cosmetics.

I prefer the old site by a mile. The new layout and color palette are both equally upsetting. But if it's here to stay, I have only one gripe about content. The home page used to have three sections for DVD: Current Sales Figures, This Week's Releases, and Upcoming Releases. There is no longer a section for Upcoming Releases. It would be nice to at least get that back.

really hard to read, especially the review pagesthey were so organized before, with cotc on the rightplease reconsider the new design... it's giving me a headache
Jan 16 - 11:54 AM
lame. my eyes hurt
Jan 16 - 12:19 PM
Dont know if I like this new design or not yet.... Everything is in different places.. Maybe I will adjust to it though.
Jan 16 - 12:36 PM
The text is too small on the review pages (the plot synopsis & text in critics' speech bubbles).Otherwise I like the layout of the new design on the movie pages: the plot synopsis, the critics' reviews. Some inconsistencies with font and layout I'm assuming will be ironed out very quickly.
Jan 16 - 12:45 PM
Hey everybody,We definitely hear your feedback and you should know that we're furiously working on the technical issues. We're also listening to your comments (both positive and negative) about the design of the site. I'm not going to say we're going to switch back, but we are going to make modifications if we need to.
Jan 16 - 12:51 PM
RT-Matchity, don't pull a George W Bush on us. admit your failure and switch back to the old design.
