Positively sprints through its narrative, achieving the adventuresome spirit so hopelessly absent from Cooper's clumsy and simple novel.
Wait, did you just call LotM a "clumsy and simple novel"? This, the best of the Leatherstocking Tales, features a very multi-dimensional story and even deeper characters. I don't disagree with the rest of your review; though the movie barely touches on all that the book has to offer it's still a fine piece of work. You might know movies, Mr. Brayton, but dear god stay away from reviewing books.
